Professor Marcelo Ribeiro is a 5th degree Black Belt registered on the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. He earned his black belt in 2001. He started studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the young age of 6 years old.

Today, at 44 years old, he specializes in teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to children and adults. Professor Marcelo is a loving husband and father of 3 beautiful children. With over 25 years of experience teaching kids and adults, Professor Ribeiro started teaching the beautiful art in a successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Professor Marcelo came to the US with his family in 2006 and worked for projects at Gracie Barra. After a huge success in Gracie Barra West Palm Beach, FL, working inside Randy Couture’s gym, Professor Marcelo Ribeiro worked in the first big project in Austin, TX. In 7 months, Gracie Barra North Austin, which was managed by Professor Marcelo and his wife Renata, became one of the most successful schools in Texas. Professor Ribeiro decided to move with his Family to Nolensville, TN, and open the doors for his own dream, his brand, and his legacy, RMA Jiu-Jitsu.
RMA Jiu-Jitsu is located in the heart of Nolensville, serving: Nolensville, Brentwood, Smyrna, College Grove, Arrington, and the entire Nashville communities. Professor Marcelo now has one of the most successful Jiu-Jitsu schools in the country, located in the suburbs of Music City Nashville, TN.
He believes that when you focus on your dreams & your family, you will always be happy and it is easy to make everyone around you happy. He states: “I feel that it is my responsibility to help kids how to look in the eyes, standing up for themselves with love and respect. I will fight for happiness, for no more bullies, respect & peace. Every single day of my life” Professor Marcelo is also known for coaching successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors, kids, and adults. He has produced many gold medalists on the major championships and the prestigious IBJJF Worlds, Pan Americans and Nationals. Professor Marcelo was the referee Director to IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) in major championships. Professor Ribeiro was responsible to travel around the US teaching rules seminars, representing the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

Professor Marcelo has lots of experience with law enforcement. When possible, he takes his time to teach law enforcement and has done seminars and special self-defense training for ARMY, National Guard, The Marines, SWAT, Troopers, and Sheriff’s departments all over the USA.
