Marcelo Ribeiro

Professor Marcelo Ribeiro is a 5th-degree Black Belt registered with the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation. At just 6 years old, he began studying the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and earned his Black Belt in 2001. With over 30 years of experience today, he specializes in teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to children and adults at his academy in Nolensville, TN. He is a loving father of three beautiful children, two of whom work and train alongside him at RMA.

Professor Marcelo began his teaching career at a successful Brazilian Jiu Jitsu School in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2006, he moved to the United States with his family and worked on various projects with Gracie Barra in West Palm Beach, FL. Shortly after, he transferred to Austin, TX, to begin working on his first major project, opening Gracie Barra North Austin. In just seven months, managed by Professor Marcelo, it became one of Texas's most successful Brazilian Jiu Jitsu schools. Wanting to open doors and pursue his own dream, brand, and legacy, Professor Marcelo and his family moved to Nolensville, TN, in 2010, and RMA Jiu Jitsu was born.
